I feel badly that the only time I rate a book is when I am dissatisfied with it. I was immediately drawn to the protagonist when I read the first few pages before buying. A poor uneducated orphan alone and on the hobo road during America's great depression confronted with a situation beyond anything he could imagine. Wow! Great concept. Then it went no where. No character development and a dumb hole filled plot. I gave two stars as i rewarded myself for managing to finish the book.Product details

Enjoyable, good story, easy to read with unexpected turns. I have enjoyed other series written by this author and I hope go continue. Keep up the good work, Mr. Pumpkin.
This book was probably aimed at the younger reader and does not have sex or bad language in it. It has a simple plot, suspense and science fiction action. It reminds me of science fiction written by people like Edgar Rice Burroughs and Lin Carter. I enjoyed the read and recommend it to others.
